Fancy and Functional: The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9

Hyundai is adding to its electric lineup with the 2026 Ioniq 9. This SUV does almost anything a family needs and does it with style. So you might want to ask yourself what you’re waiting for when it comes to getting an all-electric vehicle. This three-row SUV can fit a family and drive hundreds of miles on a full charge.

Let’s Start with the Power and Capability

You get your choice of powertrains with the Ioniq 9. There’s a rear-wheel drive version with a single motor that develops 215 horsepower. The all-wheel drive S and SE trims add another motor to the mix that not only gets you 303 horsepower but also gives you all-wheel drive.

Take a step up to the Performance all-wheel drive model, and things ramp up with a more powerful motor to drive the front wheels. Get behind the wheel of this Ioniq 9 to experience the 422 horsepower.

Ready for a Road Trip?

Think you can’t take a road trip in an electric vehicle? Think again! The Ioniq 9 will go up to 335 miles when the battery is fully charged. If you’re concerned about where you’ll be able to stop for a charge, no problem. It comes equipped with the NACS charging port. This means you can plug into Tesla Superchargers if there’s not one of these around, again, no problem. There are adapters for all the other charging stations, too.

Storage Space Galore!

The long wheelbase and flat floor make the interior of the Ioniq 9 feel extremely spacious. With all the seats up, there are 22 cubic feet of cargo space, and if you fold the third row down, it opens up to 47 cubic feet.

Then there’s the frunk. While the space in the frunk is not enormous, it’s still a place to put some extra junk that you don’t want rattling around in the cabin.

We Love Our Tech

The Hyundai Ioniq 9’s design doesn’t stop with the modern style; it continues with modern tech for modern families. The advanced EV route planning feature will help make sure your route takes into consideration where there is charging, and when you need directions, it’s displayed on the 12-inch instrument panel or 12-inch touchscreen. These two screens come together behind a curved display for a sleek, modern look.

Hyundai’s Bluelink Connected Car Services provide you with your Wi-Fi hotspot, so there’s almost always access to the internet, and Hyundai’s digital key makes it easier than ever to use your phone instead of a key fob for all your driving needs.

The Long List of Safety Features

When you get behind the wheel of the Hyundai Ioniq 9, you’ll always feel like you have someone watching out for you. The list of advanced driver aids is long, with features such as automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control also comes standard, along with pedestrian detection and blind-spot avoidance assist.

With all these systems making sure you know what’s going on around you, you can load up your Ioniq 9 and head out with extra confidence.
